Mattie Mink has been an agriculture educator since 2021 at Edmonson County High School where she instructs courses on Introductory Agriculture and Agriculture Mechanics. She serves as an advisor for the school’s chapter of the National FFA Organization.
As a member of the National FFA Organization, Mattie was very successful. She was a national finalist for the Agriculture Issues Career Development Event in 2016. She served as a Kentucky FFA State Officer in 2018-2019. This success granted her the knowledge to help her students succeed under her guidance.
Mattie completed her bachelor’s degree program in Agricultural Education at Western Kentucky University in 2021. In 2024, she graduated from Murray State University with a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education. Her education is ongoing.
In 2022, Mattie attended her first IFMA congress in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was elected to IFMA Council in 2024 with her role specifically being to aid in the development of the Next Gen Program.
With deep ties to agriculture, Mattie was raised on a row crop and beef cattle farm in central Kentucky. Mattie has shared ownership of an agritourism business that operates in the fall called Mink and Walters Pumpkin Patch. The business was established in 2002 and serves to educate the community about the agriculture industry while also producing and marketing fall ornamentals such as pumpkins, gourds, chrysanthemums, and decorative corn.
